• The card reader beeps but the gate ignores it. BFT reader beeps can mean “credential read” or “credential rejected.” If the beep tone changed or the LED flickers instead of holding green, the reader and board lost their handshake.
• The intercom rings inside but the open button won’t release the gate. That’s often a wiring fault in the open/close terminal strip or a failing intercom module, not the phone line. We bench-test the audio and the relay separately to isolate it.
